I strongly believe in the phrase “nothing about us without us.” How have we as a society gone so long creating solutions for groups of people without including them in the process? Or even worse, purposefully ignoring communities that are suffering? That’s what makes UX design so special to me. It is a bridge between amazing solutions to pressing problems and the people who need them most.
I have a background in web development and computer science. With experience in real estate as well, I am skilled at connecting with users and finding out their deepest needs. These skills help me with UX Design as well.
My goal is to use UX Design to understand the deep needs of users and provide them with useful solutions to their most pressing problems, taking us steps closer to our ideal world. Idealism is often touted as silly or unrealistic, but in my opinion, idealists are the ones who can change the world for the better because they actually believe a better world exists.
Beginning the process with accessibility and inclusion at the top of my mind is essential, and I will advocate for these throughout the process. I hope to make a real difference in people’s lives, but first, I’ll have to get to know them! :)
